Rage is a futuristic first person shooter and racing game set after 2020 when a huge asteroid has hit earth and devastated large areas and destroyed cities. Humans are surviving in small outposts and there is a constant fight for survival with hostile mutants and clans. The game is developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks for various platforms such as PC, Play Station and XBox.
In 2020, a meteorite called Apophis
strikes earth, waking up the only
survivor who was entombed in a
Cryo Pod called the Ark. Now there are supposed to be thousands of such Arks that the government had created to prevent a total wipe-out of humans. The pods have genetic material, technology, weapons and so on and these artefacts would help the survivors to rebuild civilisation.
You play as one of the survivors and use cars and jeeps to venture into the ravaged countryside and complete missions of rescue and eliminating hostiles. The hostile clans include Mutants, Wasted Clan, Ghost Clan, Scorcher Clan, Shrouded Clan, Jackal Clan and the Gearheads. Each clan has its special powers and strengths. The Gearheads are expert mechanics and look at technology for salvation while
the Scorcher Clan uses fire.
You can play in two modes, the Combat Rally and the Legends of the Wasteland. In the Combat Rally, you race with other drivers in death races. In Legends, you go out on search and destroy missions. I give this game a rating of 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. Rage will soon be released and retailed for about
`2,500. This game will be made into a
movie, and you should buy it.

The plot involves a mailman (Frédéric Andréi) who’s infatuated with an opera singer (Wilhelmenia Fernandez), whose concert he secretly tapes. That bootleggets entangled with another tape sought by gangsters, one that a woman inserts into the mailman’s pouch right before she’s slain. The second tape implicates a powerful policeman running a prostitution ring. The strengths of Diva are never in the story, but in the snide, sly viewpoint and striking imagery. The director emphasises the underbelly of Paris rather than the scenic City of Lights. He captures ordinary life and people oblivious to the
chaos occurring around them. His small touches, clever dialogue and shaded character development add humour to what could have been a very dark story.
