After having enjoyed an unusually cold winter, we are all ready to shed oodles of woolies and
warm clothes that we draped ourselves in. As the slightly balmy spring air heralds summer, it’s about time we stock up for the coming spring-summer months.
    What do the designers forecast?
Bangalore-based Namrata G Bhatia of Kairos G line says, “The spring-summer trends spell a riot of colours and prints. Same colours, but different hues, like blue is indigo, brown is sienna or hazel nut, pink is warm and vintage or bubble gum sweet, green is leafy and orange is
burnt. Whites and creams are here to stay. Also, expect purples and icy blue.’’

Dubai-based designer, Jasbir Jamani of Jazbyr line, who showcased recently at the Chennai Fashion Week, says, “White is likely to be the colour for the summer months. Be it day wear or evening wear, just go for white and you are sure to brighten up everyone’s day. Wear them in
cocktail length, grazing the floor.’’
The scenario will be bubblier, as the world recovers from last year’s recession and inflation. ‘Young look’ will definitely dominate. As hemlines have regressed, shorter skirts and hot pants have moved in. It’s like, shorter the pants, hotter the trend. Of course, for this, one needs to
have sculpted thighs. You have to hit the gym or start jogging to expose those toned legs.
